Type of a scam Investment
The scammer Barry Yeckes said I was approved for a real estate loan and proceeded to collect upfront costs to engage the process. He approved the Executed Contract from my realtor and engaged the title company sending them title requests and loan approval confirmation. He also said he would do debt consolidation with me to help improve my credit score. He provided my account information for the debt and called into my creditors to pay off the amount of debt, however, the charges bounced. When I contacted him to ask what had happened he then sent me an authorization to pay off my credit directly. These accounts were fraudulent and the credit charges bounced again. During this time, he demanded 2 wire transfers for upfront closing costs to pay off the attorney, appraisal, and his team for processing. The week of the close he was unreachable and claimed he was sick. He did not send the closing package to the title company and I ended up defaulting on the loan he took a total of $ 6750.00 which was equivalent to 2.5 pts on the loan. Barry called me and the realtor on the day after the close date which was April 4th, 2023 to tell us that he is going to send the closing documents to the title company. We waited all day and he never sent them. This company and whoever is behind the electronic message and Barry Yeckes, or Barry himself, is a scammer. This seems like a long con because I contacted this company in 2020 who said they would fulfill on a refi but, I never pursued b.c I was not ready. I kept in touch with this company asking about the loan programs and it wasn't until last month that I found a property to acquire. I have all documents to upload but, not sure which ones to send to this. I have all emails, and all authorizations to prove this. I am seeing now that he has multiple complaints that I did not see because back in 2020 he did not have any complaints, I believe. Will need to ask BBB. I will upload his fraudulent loan packages document that he uses but will need to understand what else to upload and next steps from BBB.
