Type of a scam Moving

Scammer left a message on front door while members of household were at work. The message looked like a missed package notice with a “sorry we missed you message” then information on when / how to contact them. It also had tracking number that was handwritten (which when we looked at the number it was today’s date - address number - last three digits of zip code). When I called the number the person claimed to work for ADT and I hung up the call immediately because I was not interested in the service. After hanging up the scammer texted “must suck being that angry all the time”. Thinking this was unprofessional I began to question the validity of the notice and searched the address and called ADT to confirm if this was a sales tactic or employee. Each search confirmed this was not legitimate.
