I applied for an online job through remote.com for a part time remote job. I was notified by email (on company letterhead) that I was a candidate for an interview via Teams Chat. I participated in the chat interview and was told I was being offered a job. I received an official job acceptance letter (on company letterhead) via email. I looked up the person's info online and it all seemed to match up to what I found on the legitimate company website. I was emailed start-up payment for all the supplies I would need to perform this job at home. I received +$3800 in 2 payments that were to be mobile deposited into my account and I was given paypal instructions to pay their vendor directly for these supplies. I fell for it, hook, line & sinker. I sent payments to these people.

I was offered a remote data entry job that I applied for on LinkedIn. I was contacted by email to have an interview on telegram. Once I clicked the link the interview began. I did provide a photo id and a recent picture for a company id. They then informed me that I was hired upon a 2 week completion of training. I was also informed that they would send me start up money via check to purchase a laptop amongst other items that cost ?? 2890.00. They emailed me a check and asked that I print it out and use mobile banking to deposit the check.

I became suspicious and did a bit of digging and found that they were not legit.

I did provide them with a docu-sign signature on a form that had Vista at the top of the page.

I did also provide them with my name, DOB, address and phone number before I realized it was a scam.

I have all emails and the telegram app conversation.
