They wanted me to call them so I can work from home and make money

• Feb 13, 2025

I was contacted by a woman, named Julia, who said she was assigned to assist me based on a referral from a gentleman, named Richard, from a temporary agency regarding a job opportunity. Her message said "if you have time, you can get paid as soon as possible, $50 to $200 within 1 hour, and the training and registration are 100% free." I asked her to send me the job details and this was her reply "This is an online part-time job that you can do from anywhere, at any time, during your free hours. It only requires 1-2 hours a day and offers a daily commission of $80-$100, with the potential to earn up to $9,300 per month. We need to complete 2 sets of app ratings per day on the platform, and we'll earn a commission for each app we optimize. The company's operating hours are from 9:00am to 10:00pm EST, and you can work anytime in between. It will only take 1-2 hours per day to complete the tasks. We work for an international app promotion company called AdAction. App developers publish their apps on our platform, and our role is to help them optimize their apps by providing targeted data traffic and attract more users to download and use their apps. If you're interested, I'd be happy to provide you with workflow training. Before that, I need to explain the salary and commission structure. Please kindly let me know if you are interested in this job opportunity." She goes on to say "We have to complete 2 sets of 40/40 tasks every day. I can start by setting up a training account for you to get familiar with the process. This will help you understand how we upload data and generate revenue. Additionally, the company will offer you a commission of $50-$200 upon successful completion of your training." She then asked for some personal information including age, location, profession and if I had a Social Security Number - she didn't ask for my SSN only if I had one - and asked if I had CashApp to withdraw my commissions. Then she sent me a link to set up my AdAction account "I will now send you the link to the AdAction workbench. Please click on it to view the platform. As a user, you'll need to register for a free account using your phone number. Rest assured, registration is free and respects your privacy. Here is the link where you can register your account: https//www.adaction1.online/ You can ask me if you have any questions while registering, and let me know when you're done."

After setting up my account and completing the training, they populated my account with $50 and some small commissions earned during training. Then I was told that I needed to maintain a minimum balance of $100 in my account to complete my daily tasks. I actually had to deposit money in my account so I could do the work. Then as each set of 40/40 tasks were assigned I encountered what they call a "combination order" which required me to deposit even more money to earn the commission. After several rounds of this I threatened to quit and eventually abandoned my account when they asked me to deposit $3600.
