On Saturday, September 29, 2018 I received a call message that said they were Apple Support. I called the number recorded on my iPhone 6 today (Monday, October 1, 2018). I asked the person who answered my call (833-610-7222) if I would be able to add additional iCloud storage. The person (male with a foreign accent [perhaps Indian (the sub-continent of India)] transferred me to yet another person (also male. Possibly Indian as well). I was told that for security reasons they would have me buy an iTunes card in the amount of $50.00 to buy 200 GB of additional iCloud storage. I purchased a $50.00 iTunes card at Target on Lake Street in Minneapolis MN. I then gave the (so called) Apple Support person the number on my ITunes $50.00 card. I was then asked to buy another iTunes card in the amount of $100.00 because there was a discrepancy with the $50.00 dollar purchase and if I bought the additional $100.00 card they would then refund me the additional amount of $100.00. At this point I informed the (so called) Apple Support that I was going to ask the electronics person at Target for help. During all this time the (so called) Apple Support person told me he would stay on the phone while I both bought the original $50.00 iTunes card and also when I was about to buy the $100.00 iTunes card. The Target personnel agreed that this was an unusual request from Apple Support. The Target Personnel (after reviewing my iTunes information on my iPhone) hung up on the (so called) Apple Support person and informed me that he thought this call was a scam. I then called Apple Support on another number and they confirmed that l was the victim of a scam. I lost $47.50.

D informed me that he thought the request to

Thought this was Apple Tech support to fix a problem with our daughters phone. The indicated they needed to run a patch which required us to provide them with ITune card codes. They said they ran the patch and were going to reimburse us but we had to give them additional ITune card codes. This just snowballed out of control.
