I just opened an LLC and I received a document in the mail stating I had one more step to take to receive my documents. I scanned the QR code on the form but have not received and documents since I made payment on 12-22-25. After researching this company it’s really a UPS address not a real business company. How do I go by getting a refund? I called my bank but was denied.

Mail was sent to new nonprofit organization mailing address following registration with Secretary of State. Letter stated Certificate of Status was required to complete registration and receive document for posting at workplace.

Requested payment for tatget to receive NY Certificate of Status for registering a new LLC with the state. Since the general address location was known to be a shopping complex and not a government office complex, no payment was made.

On 10/20/2025 I received two separate letters from the same "company", listed as "Business Posting Department" with a mailing address of 911 Central Ave., Suite 24-199, Albany, NY 12206 and another listed as the Business Resource Center with a mailing address of 911 Central Ave., Ste 24 PM#373, Albany NY 122206-1304. Both documents appear to purposely be constructed to look like official correspondence from New York State.

The first, entitled "Certificate of Status Request Form", all but demands they be sent $87.25 (in my case), for them to send me a copy of a "New York Certificate of Status" for a PLLC I recently formed.

The second all but demands $92.58 (in my case) to be mailed a copy of state and federal labor law postings. This letter directly implies not purchasing this may subject the business owner to substantial civil penalties.

We received a letter from a business called "Business Resource Center" requesting 87.25 in order for us to receive our certificate of status

Received an official looking letter in the mail from the Business Resource Center requesting payment of 87.25 for a Louisiana Certificate of Status. There is a document number and a local mailing address. In small print there is a notice that “This is not a government agency”. Appreciate the other users that reported the same type of communication in other states.

They state that they are not a government agency and that we need to pay a fee in order to attain a California Certificate of Status.
