Letter received under US Postage Paid Permit No. 1535. Contains a check for an allocated waiver of $199.00 paid to us as the homeowners. Letter says it's a final notice, gives us a "Homeowner ID" and says the letter is to inform us of an important matter regarding our property secured by our current lender. They reserve the right to revoke the waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call immediately. Spanish speaking number is 888-425-4171.

- Pflugerville, TX, USA

Letter that says "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" and "FINAL NOTICE". It has the mortgage company's name in a couple places although at the bottom in small writing it says "Not affiliated with" the mortgage company. It also says "Not all consumers have previous coverage." at the bottom of the page in small writing. It has what looks like a blue check for $199.00 "Allocated Waiver".

My guess is it's for some kind of home insurance. The fact that it doesn't have ANY company name on it besides the mortgage company is highly suspicious to me. I'm not going to call a company without at least knowing their name. Plus trying to look like the mortgage company and money coming to you instead of paying for something is highly deceitful and very poor business practice indeed. It should be illegal if it is not.

- Lillington, NC, USA

A Final Notice was mailed with a check of $199. It was listed as a final attempt to contact me about an important matter regarding my home. It did not list a matter.

I received the following letter in the mail and I attempted to call. The male who answered requested my Home Owner ID and refused to provide information on the company he worked for and was vague with every question I asked so I shut the call down without identifying myself in any way.

Letter Contents:

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED FINAL NOTICE Lender Info: (Mortgage Lender of my Property but was capitalization was incorrect) Home Owner ID: XX######## Attention: (My name and my Wife's Names) This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at (my current address) secured by your current lender which is _______ (Mortgage Lender of my Property but was capitalization was incorrect). We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU 888-467-3210. The bottom of the spam is a fake "check" with our names on it, but with no signature. It states it is for $199.00 and says "Allocated Waiver" above the $199.00. The back of the "check" even has a line with an "X" and "ENDORSE HERE". However, the bottom of the front side of the check states, "Not all consumers have previous coverate. Not affiliated with (My Bank) THIS IS NOT A CHECK".

- Chittenden, VT, USA

We received a letter in the mail that had the exact same script as the one on here from our bank. Our names were correct however my last name had my maiden name. It mentioned final notice which I thought was interesting because I have never received anything else about this. I ended up googling the phone number to verify if it was my banks, and it immediately told me that it was a scammer number.

- Baton Rouge, LA, USA

Letter states our names, address, & mortgage lender. It provided fake check stating Allocated Waiver for $199. It stated that we needed to call 888-467-3210 within 7 days of receiving rhe notice.

- Monroe, TN, USA

I received a final notice letter that included my name, address, mortgage lender, and home owner ID number with an allocated waiver for the exact amount of $199.00 stating the document which looks like a check had a blue background and microprinting. It does declare it isnt a check at the very bottom, but wanted me to call them at 888-467-3210 to verify all the information. No return address given or business name listed from the sender. Only their phone number and a statement saying their hours of operation were Monday through Friday 8 to 5 p.m. pst, no Saturdays.

- Iva, SC, USA

Received a "letter" in the mail that at a glance looked like a check from my mortgage company.

Lender Info: (my mortgage company)

ATTENTION: (my full name)

This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at (my address) secured by your current lender which is (my mortgage company). We reserve the right to revoke allocated wiaver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call IMMEDIATELT as thus will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU 888-467-3210.

Then at the bottom of the letter, there was a portion that looks like a check for $199.00 but it states it is not a check at the bottom and states this letter us not affiliated with my mortgage company.

- Stevensville, MD, USA

Received in paper mail. Message on outside envelope makes it sound urgent. “THIS NOTICE IS TIME SENSITIVE: SENT ON 2/26/2025 INFORMATION FOR THE MORTGAGEE ONLY”. “IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED” Received well after supposed “sent date.” Also has my “Lender Info: “, attempting to add legitimacy. Envelope is a protected tear away envelope like what a check would be sent in. No return address. Inside letter is directed to homeowners. “This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at (address) secured by your current lender which is (lender name). We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice.” In bold “Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FONAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU ###-###-####.” They also included a Spanish line “###-###-####” There’s a “check” (that states at the bottom “THIS IS NOT A CHECK” for $199.00 stated as an “Allocated Waiver”. Includes a Home Owner ID as well. What a scammy way to take advantage of people.

- Bel Air, MD, USA

Final Notice from what appears to be my mortgage lender. It has my name and my husbands', our address and even a Home Owner ID.

- Ellicott City, MD, USA

Received a phishing letter which read “This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property secured by your current lender. We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after seven days of receiving this notice.” And used my address, name, and lender information. Attached was a “fake check” with a $199 “allocated waiver”

- Columbia, SC, USA

Same as previous post. “This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at [my address] secured by your current lender, which is Private Lender. We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after seven days of receiving this notice, please call immediately as this will be our final attempt to notify you. 888-467-3210.”

- Glen Burnie, MD, USA

Mail looks like it was from Better Mortgage Corporation but in the fine print says its not. It appears to be a check but in the fine print it is not. It claims that it is a time sensitive matter and to call a phone number immediately.

- Monroe, LA, USA

I received a postal letter stating, "This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at [my personal residence address] secured by your current lender at [my mortgage company]. We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call immediately as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU 888-467-3210."

It further stated hours of operation and included Spanish instructions. it was attached to what resembled a check to me and my wife; however, no routing/account number was printed at the bottom. Over the box with the $199.00 it stated Allocated Waiver.

The letter included perforated tabs on the sides and a clear address window. On the outside of the envelope where the return address would be was, "THIS NOTICE IS TIME SENSITIVE SENT ON 2/12/2025 INFORMATION FOR THE MORTGAGE ONLY IMMEDATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED." Just above the address window it said, "Lender Info: ******* Bank"

It appeared to be a time-sensitive communication from our mortgage company, but at the bottom of the letter it did state, "Not affiliated with ******* Bank."

- Carrboro, NC, USA

Appears to be a postal phishing attempt. No identifying info on envelope or contents except the 800 number. I assume this is to generate calls for a business and the attached check seems like a way to lure people into an agreement with no information about the agreement

- Ashville, OH, USA

Final notice regarding home property. Hiding themselves as my current mortgage lender. Asking you to call 888-467-3210 with a "Final Attempt to Notify". Looks like a fake check on the bottom for $199.00.
