I received an email from what looked to be a "AAA" site. I was a member of AAA and they said that I had won a car tool kit and that if I just paid for the $8.98 shipping charge, they would soon mail it to me. I paid with my Capital One CC. Several weeks later having received nothing, I called the number shown on the credit card charge for a business PICKUPTODAYDISCOUNTPURCHA seemingly in Georgia USA, and a phone # 866-200-8818. When I called the number, I was told that they were a 3rd party business and that I had paid the $8.98 to have a chance at participating in a sweepstakes, and that if I won, they would send me the prize. I told them it sounded like a scam and they immediately hung up on me. I reported it to Capital One as a fraud dispute.
