I received a phone call from a Capital One number (1-866-750-0873) around 8pm Eastern tonight where they stated my credit card had been hacked with two charges - one from TJMaxx and another from Walmart in NJ. Additionally they said my card was added to apple pay in Chicago. I innocently provided them with my personal information (including my SSN that I typed into my phone, that I did not communicate verbally) so they could escalate my security and cancel my card and while I was on hold I saw I had countless emails from Capital One regarding account username changes, password changes, my card being ADDED to apple pay and so on. I hung up and immediately called a different Capital One number where they said a charge of $600 was just made (which was fraud) and that the woman I was speaking with earlier was not from Capital One.
