Company by the name of WellGuard Prelegal called my brother looking for me asking me to call them back at #888-747-8077 ext. 105

I called and some lady answers and claims that I have a loan or payday loan with some company call American Webloan.

She claims there is a judgment against me in the state of Rutherford County for the balance of $2023.97. I have never heard of either company nor have I ever received any information about owing anyone. I did not provide my social security number, but the lady did call off my address which I am sure anyone can pull online. I asked her to send me what they are claiming I owed, and she sent me a demand letter of some balance. I have worked in Finance for over 20+ years so I am pretty privy to what is considered legit or a scam. After speaking with the lady I called back and asked for their name and website address and even the website seems very sketchy. I did let the lady know I will be filing a police report as I have not taken out a loan. People like myself work too hard for [censored] like this to take advantage of and try to steal peoples hard earned money. The other funny thing is the number on the website list 866-675-6314 and when I called it the voice that sounded like the same lady, I talked to the first 2 times answered on this number and she said a different department that I could not make out what she said.

I have received two calls and my mom received one. I called back and the first thing I noticed is they don't answer with the name of the "so called business" it's just a is this so and so and I will transfer you to the investigator. The investigator claims the call is recorded but only states that I will be served and they are being courteous of allowing me to call LOL also verified the website, it was just created this year, weird because they claim to have been in business for 20 yrs. The location of the bldg is in NC and shocking it's just opened up this summer. So my advice is to have these people listed as scammers, no law enforcement agency is going to leave you a message.
