I was interviewed via text messaging and offered to participate in their training program. The entire ordeal was the most professional attempt to scam me yet. My interview was forwarded to another department for approval. Then, I was given a score of 8.4 out of 10 and invited to their training program. That's when I recognized this opportunity to be like other scams and I went online to check them out. I regret wasting time with Katrice Mercedes.

Today, I received a tx from Makala Harmon claiming she found my resume on Indeed and thought I would be a good fit for Forge Biologics. She sent me the name of Ms Hairston for an interview through Microsoft Teams with a verification code. I spent all afternoon and went over everything. I received the documentation from Forge Biologics, James Armitage, and an email from [email protected]. With my excitement, I printed, completed, and emailed back. However, once completed, they insisted that the head supervisor wanted me to start immediately and that I needed to pay for 1/2 of the equipment fees of $550, which I would be reimbursed. I agreed, but I knew something was wrong once she stated that I needed to pay through an app. I asked what handle it would be through Paypal, and she insisted I pay $275 to [email protected], Cassandra Anderson, as a friend or family transaction. There was no way I was going to do that. I have a copy of the whole conversation/interview/messaging. Now I have to deal with the fraud companies. These people have no morals and don't realize what or how they hurt others.

Just as the other complaints on BBB, this John Taylor person posted a job on LinkedIn and wanted to interview/onboard me through Microsoft Teams. I was supposed to be paid via direct deposit for proofreading work. I read the other complaints on ScamPulse.com and cut short my "interview" before I gave any further personal information other than the state I lived in and my email address. It felt like a scam and apparently it was.

I received an email from Scott Douglas regarding a job offer. The email noted that the hiring team of The Compass Group Co received and reviewed my resume via CareerBuilder. I was required to contact Bryan Denmark via Microsoft Teams, so I did, because I’ve come across The Compass Group name before given while I’m applying for work on indeed, LinkedIn, etc. I had to confirm the interview code (which was Cpass-1821). The interview took place between Bryan and I (via chat in Teams-written communication only). This interview was regarding data entry/customer service position. Needless to say the beginning of the interview suggested the entire process was going to get “obviously suspicious”. Not only were there spaces between last words and question marks in sentences, but he was telling me about himself using “bad grammar” I don’t 100% understand it. He was using some of that grammar throughout the interview process. At the end of the interview I was offered the job with bad grammar on his end. I eventually asked him “Are you someone else?” when he asked me what bank I used after he told me the pay rate and there were options getting paid via mailbox or direct deposit. He did reply he was whom he said he was (with bad grammar). I called him out on the bad grammar there. He replies back you clearly know it’s a typo. Me in my head: “Really?? How many other typos did you make??” I then told him to give me a call just so I can tell he’s easy to understand. No answer—Gotcha! At least I wished him luck and gave him “One Pinocchio” for his performance.

I was offered a job as a Data Entry Specialist by Elevance Health, and was told to contact Elizabeth Edon for an interview. Interview was done 100% on Microsoft Teams, and I was offered the job. She told me that the company was going to pay for my computer and printer for my home office, but I had to pay the vendor $550 for a license key, and I had to send them a screenshot of my max limit for an echeck deposit. I started filling out the employment forms, but something didn't feel right. Looking at the business information at the bottom of the email, there is no specific address, other than Virginia Ave, Virginia not being capitalized, and no zip code.

- Sevierville, TN, USA • Feb 16, 2024

Smoky Mountain trucking Institute Facebook page posted a job posting for a work from home job. I contacted them and then was messaged by someone that sent me a link to Microsoft teams and a code. Whenever I entered the code I was contacted by someone named Molly Boyd. She asked me a series of questions. I gave some of my information and was told that I would be given a computer and all the necessary supplies to start the job. Then once I was told that I was hired in the same conversation which is kind of strange I was then told that I would have to purchase an apple gift card for $116.03 in order to purchase the software that I would need to track my hours I would Work And they would not send me the link to complete my hiring process until I purchased the gift cards so then I started asking questions because I started thinking that this was a scam and then the person sent me her ID picture and said that she’s a real person and then she said that I would understand more after I start the hiring process but I have to do that in order to continue and so I just kept asking questions I then message the Smoky Mountain trucking Institute again and ask them why their business says that it’s permanently closed, and I’ve tried calling every single phone number that is associated with their business and none of them go through. They’re all disconnected and this woman still demanding for me to purchase the gift card And believe that this is a scam

I was texted about a remote job offer at Biomica (based in Israel) for a Data Entry/Admin Assistant role. The first person to reach out said they were named Sophia Destin, and to reach out to the hiring manager Marcus Taylor via a Microsoft Teams link. They conducted an interview through text, complete with a job offer letter, W-4 to fill out, and a business code of conduct form. However, they wanted a picture of my driver's license and social security card for identity verification, which I unfortunately gave them since I had verified that the company was real. Then they wanted my IDme login information, which I did not give.

The job was to include two weeks of paid training to become proficient in a few different kinds of bookkeeping software.

Applied for remote jobs on Indeed. Next day I received a text “ Hello, I am Mrs. Gia Ben-Hur from the Human Resources Department at GIE Medical. I am pleased to inform you that your Your resume has been reviewed by our Recruiting Department, and we are impressed. You have been selected for an interview. Please confirm your availability by responding with 'YES I AM.'” I assumed it was a response from Indeed which I trusted, so I responded. They then had me follow a link to Microsoft Teams to communicate. Knowing it was a remote position, I didn’t suspect anything. I chatted with, who I was told would be the person doing the interview, Mrs. Sarah Evans. We chatted and scheduled an interview via Microsoft teams. During the interview, the questions were very straight forward and seem pretty legit. She did not ask personal information except for name, state, town, and age which I expected. She went through the job positions, pay, training, and the full story of who they were and how the daily job would go. I was applying for the Data Entry position. It wasn’t until I asked about the equipment until it got suspicious. I asked if the equipment would be shipped or if I would need to use a personal computer through training. With this job being a medical company, I knew they would only send their equipment for security reasons. She stated “ You will be making the purchase of your working materials and the company will provide the funds needed for this purchase.” I asked her if there was I way I could call her so that I could be sure it was a legitimate offer, she stopped responding and got offline.

I was excited to see this and almost jumped right on into it! I have been looking for jobs for the past 5 months and only one interview to show for it.

This came through and thank god I keep track of my job applications on Huntr. I couldn't applying to Apree Health however I have applied to data entry analyst maybe a hand of times. So I reviewed my huntr account and could not find anything! Then I went to LinkedIn, could not find the person from the email sender or the person being mentioned to set up a live chat with! Then I looked up the company, Now the company is on LinkedIn however it seems strange to me. They do have a legit website so I went and attempted to look for a data entry role on the website. NONE!! So my gut is telling me the LinkedIn account is not real and they are using the real website to confuse others.

Thats when I started my google rabbit hole and found ScamPulse.com report with someone who actually did the live chat and which I am so sorry you had to go through that not being paid on top of your personal information now out there to a scammer using a company to lore others into.

I am so thankful I saw your ScamPulse.com report before I did the same thing!!!

Anyway I copied the email below for others to view. I understand they are using other names and such. Just be aware even if the names come up legit this is the not the proper way to do an interview. Steps are normally taken.

(desperately looking for a job myself I almost got myself mixed up in this and I hope others stay vigilant)

I received a text message from the scammer. On suspicion I googled the name given and the company listed. The first result was a scam. The text of the scam description matched my texts verbatim. I reported immediately.

- Joplin, MO, USA • Dec 19, 2023

I've recently started looking for a supplemental income to my social security so they probably got my info from another website. The "contact person" was Kristen. I did not click on any of their links. Just opened the email.

- Dublin, CA, USA • Dec 19, 2023

They sent me an email and a text offering me a job at Aldevron LLC

- Williams, IN, USA • Dec 03, 2023

The text message that I received said that I was receiving it regarding the Work From home for Data Entry /Customer Service Representative. It then went on to say that I needed to download teams (and provided the link) and add Mrs. Michelle Goins, the hiring manager. She would do my interview. The "interview" was all done on teams and by the end, I was told that I had the job. During the interview there was very little questions about my work history. I was to connect with her through teams the next morning so that she could connect me with my training manager, Mr. Brian Robinson. He proceeded to email me papers for my employment: W-4 forms, Direct deposit, work contract, etc. They looked legit but it bothered me that I had not met or talked to anyone in person. They offered fantastic benefits and high pay. I messaged them both back and told them that it made me very uneasy that I had not even talked to anyone in person and they have stopped messaging with me. I also called the only number I could find associated with this company and received a voice message not linked to a business. I sent an email to this company from a website asking if this was legit and got no response.

i had the same as the other case.

I've been applying to jobs usiing linkedin and indeed.com, today at 6 am i got a text saying they wanted to interview me for a possition as administrative assitant (remote) for $25 hourly.

They required I set up an accont in teams and click a link they sent, for a interview with a person named Margated Crews. I replied that text asking "When?" because it was suspicious they include my whole name but never said what time.

They replied "NOW" wich is more suspicious, usually they give you times for an interview. I check online for the name and bingo, other people had reported this number with similar stories.

- Monroe, LA, USA • Sep 29, 2023

An "recruiter" for this company contacted me via email for a job offer--data entry working from home. By the end, I had received what looked to be an official job offer and was requested to fill out a W-4 form. The person even shared screen shots of the many "employees" who had successfully completed the same process. The following day I received a check via UPS in the amount of $10,300.00--this was to be used to order my equipment from "their" vendor; the equipment was supposed to consist of a MacBook, a printer/photocopier, and a scanner. The check, of course, was fraudulent and almost cost me my bank account. Through networking, I discovered that I was not the first person this "company" has done this to. I do not know If Consolidated Communications is a real and reputable company and someone is using their company name to scam people, or if the company is actually a sham; I believe it definitely needs to be looked into as it could be the former and they are unaware someone is using their company name to scam people just looking for employment.

- Sun City, CA, USA • Sep 22, 2023

I was contacted via text about a job I never applied for and asked to take an immediate job interview over Microsoft Teams.
