I am a coordinator at a resource center and just today I learned about my resident getting scammed by this person. Very similar experience, my residents found a home for rent (413 W Renee Dr, Phoenix Arizona 85027), David at first requested the first month of rent and the previous month. My resident informed him, they couldnt afford this. He kept saying that its okay, simply pay for the first month but kept asking for the previous month rent. My resident had to remind him that they waiver that cost. My resident paid him the first month of rent (1200), the application fee (50) and the deposit (950). David said if they pay then they will get keys to the apartment, but once they did he kept making up excuses to not provide the key. To note the residents toured the home beforehand-- a self guided tour when David Warder gave them an access code to the home, but only after they paid the application fee and the application was through MYND. But he had them voice call him as they walked around the property -- David was not there in person. They kept asking for the keys and its now pass the move in date. David requested an additional 500 dollars for utilities, of course they werent aware of this charge and tried to address it but at this point they paid the 500 dollars and then David ghosted them... and he made sure the payments werent wired transferred therefore making it impossible for them to get their money back. Also the money was sent to his attorney named BRITTANY MUELLER

There was a posting made on May 31st via Redfin for 2225 Red Maple Road, FlowerMound TX, rent for $1800. I contacted and received an email from a Josh White via Avail. Later an individual by the name of David Warder had messaged me about this property. We spoke briefly via text where we then arranged a tour for me on Sunday June 1st. Over the phone he sent me a link to a MYND leasing website to where i did a self tour in the home. The details of this website did not match but I continued. After the tour he made sure I opted out of further text communications from MYND leasing, and then went to submit and application. The following morning around 11:40 he emailed me with a congratulations stating I had been accepted. This application did contain sensitive data of mine he now has. Additionally, he then requested a deposit, and insisted upon money order. I went to walmart to get a money order of $1095 dollars, and went across the street to a chase bank to submit. From here he sent me a lease agreement. I have agreed to meet this individual this Sunday at the property at 3:00pm.

What was the outcome of this rental? Was it a scam because we are getting the same person and email saying congrats. I would like to know if this is a scam before going any further.
