I was referred to a “mechanic” named Eddie at 484-773-7871… who broke several promises and cheated me and my family horribly. Initially he said he would come meet us at Jordan Park Lanes on January 13, 2024. He did not show up at the scheduled 1pm time and he advised to come to his “shop” which is just abandoned warehouses on 1801 S 12th St, Allentown Pa 18103. We finally meet and he states he will provide a new left fender to fix the 2013 maroon Honda civic that I own and also buff out the bumper and rim.

After several weeks and delays; he “repairs” the car with what he claims is a new fender …. Which it’s clearly NOT! His invoice says “new fender” and a fake invoice #******. I can furnish this as well as his texts.

After receiving the car a day late on Wednesday Jan 24; we noticed it wasn’t done right and he just said it was “a shadow”; he then took the money and said he’s got kids in the car.

Next day we noticed more issues and spots on the fender. It’s clearly poorly painted. I confirmed with VIVE Collusion Center in Allentown that this repair will now cost $1,700 to fix his mess.

We continue to call him from my number and other numbers for safety reasons. He promised to fix on Feb 3rd at noon; but never showed up and lied again. I am unable to get a hold of him. I sent him pictures of the horrible repair and the new estimate that he cost me and my family.

Please take this criminal/bully off the street before he harms others. This should be escalated if possible!! He’s done a ton of harm mentally and financially.

Thanks for your time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

A man named “Tom Merchon” is driving around parking lots soliciting people for fraudulent “auto repair services”.

I was solicited by a man in a parking lot in a vehicle with “Go Go’s Auto” logo on the side. The man introduced himself as “Mr. Merchon” along with his son, and asked to “take a look” at the dent in my fender. I pulled into the parking lot, and he proceeds to tell me he owns an auto repair business and could fix it in 5-10 minutes. He said he could repair it for $160 and would give me his business card. I accept the business card, thinking I could potentially go to his garage and receive the repair later. He asks to “show me how he pops out the dent”. I oblige, and he attempts to use a suction cup to pull out the dent. This does not work, and he then pulls out hammers and crowbars and starts pounding on the fender. Much to my horror, he begins slathering bondo onto my fender with a credit card and then proceeds to use black spray paint on my car. He then demanded $160 and $20 tip for both him and his son. He demanded payment via cash app or cash from a local ATM. I only had PayPal, which he accepted. He placed multiple phone calls to his wife and “associate” to ensure payment went through as the account wasn’t actually his. The payment was sent to someone named “Sunny Merchon”. I was afraid to refuse payment, as I had a broken ankle and had no way to escape. There were 2 men with crowbars demanding money from me, and I was afraid if I refused they might hurt me or carjack me. The “repair job” was an absolute disaster and looks terrible. He essentially vandalized my vehicle. The repair was in no way professional or legitimate and I was tricked and coerced into paying. Later online searches revealed other have been solicited in a similar manner and scammed.

We used Geico roadside assistance to request a tow from Manhattan to the Mazda dealership near our apartment. Geico gave out our contact info to Quality Auto Services. We got a call back from someone pretending to be Geico saying that instead of towing the car to the dealership, we could take it to a closer repair shop that was "Geico authorized" and would waive the diagnostic fee, had a Mazda certified tech, would give discounts on repairs because they were "Geico authorized," and that they had loaner cars. We agreed. So an hour and a half wait for the tow truck and a 30 min ride to the repair shop later, it turned it was all lies. The person who called us was NOT from Geico, they were from Quality. They didn't have loaner cars or any of the other stuff they promised. It was all a scam. We were concerned that if we left our car with them it would lead to inflated charges and low quality "repairs." They also were well aware that Geico only pays for one tow per incident, so we were pretty much ******* because we'd wasted our one tow being taken to Quality instead of the Mazda dealership. We complained to Geico, so Quality offered to tow us to the place they were supposed to tow us to to begin with, but we would have to wait two more hours. Was that even a real timeframe, or were they still trying to trick us into giving up and just getting the work done there? BEYOND SKETCHY. We ended up getting a different towing company and having to pay for it on our own ($425 cash, including tip). Still probably cheaper than whatever fake / expensive diagnosis these scammers would have given. It is unconscionable that Geico works with these people.

Kevin and an associate approached me in a parking lot and offered to repair the scratches on my car for 40 a scratch. I refused for 10 minutes but they wouldn’t stop and eventually panic and anxiety kicked in. At this point, my unfortunate response was to give in and let them do what they wanted until they went away. They buffed and spray painted my car, did a shoddy job that will probably look even worse than before after rain or washing, and gave me an arbitrarily high number of scratches totalling around 3000, making sure to box me in as they did so. I paid via a Credit Card attached to Paypal, in hopes of refuting the charges. Paypal cannot help as they made me do a friends and family transaction. Im still hoping my card can.
