Craigslist vehicle DTI (digital title info) -SCAM

Posted vehicle on Craig’s list and received a text from +1 (409) 407-5115 as many have noted below. The person asks for a vehicle report in this case they called it a DTI https://digitaltitleinfo.com/

I was a fool and purchased the report, provided it and then they requested a window sticker report. I became suspicious of the request due to how they asked for it.

Getservicereport.com. is a scam

This fake vehicle buyers is sending you to pay for an vehicle inspection/service reports. They own this websites report. It's a new scam for many people. They are asking you for those reports and of course you don't have because you don't need one and then they're texting you an website address where to get the report. Some of them are $39.00,,, some of them $25.00,,, etc. Don't do it ! It's a scam !

This guy is going on multiple email addresses. [email protected], [email protected]. He is using text only Ge keeps asking for GSR, MVR, all personal information about my vehicle. He is using also multiple different phone numbers like 409-407-5115.
I think he is stealing your vehicle information and pictures and scamming other people as a seller.

Don't ever give your vehicle information to anyone unless you meet him in person.

Bob Ethan answered our ad for a Chevy pick-up posted on Craig's List. Kept asking for a Vehicle History report, and I kept telling him he could run a CarFax report. He kept saying he didn't have the authority to do that. It wasn't until I researched his number that I found this post, and realized he was trying to scam us (and not very well)!

I am selling my vehicle on Craigslist. I was texted by an individual who said his name is Gary. Here's how the conversations went: Gary Hi there, I saw your ad for ford f350? Is it still available? Me: Yes. Gary: Great, tell me more. Have you owned it for a long time? Where do you do your service? is it at the dealership or a local garage? Me I have had it for 21 years. XXX Equipment has done all the work on it for the past 6 or 7 years. Gary: I wanted to know ore about your availability and when you can show the vehicle. What is your preference are you able to meet the day after tomorrow? 12:30 to 2 on Friday I might be able to show the vehicle to you. Where are you? Gary: Alright so that time is ideal for myself as well let me make arrangements with the misses. One thing thought we'd like to see is the NVS paper of the vehicle. Can you send that by text or email here? Me: What is an NVS? Gary: It's the document related to the title that you can run on line. If you google nationalvinstatus.com you can pull up the information of your particular vehicle. me name is Gary, what is your name? Me: Hi Gary, my name is *** Where are you from? I can give you the truck's VIN or I can try to get it to you this afternoon. Or I can send you copies of all the paperwork done on it. Gary: simply go on nationalvinstatus.com Enter the vin as the owner and get the full report. Me: Ok Gary: ok, let me know if you get the report, so I can make a plan thanks. Me: Can I get your email to send this to you. Gary: sure, this is the email [email protected] did you get it? let me know if you sent it Me: I just sent it from ***** Gary: yes got it, thanks, Let me arrange plans and get back to you as soon as I finish working tonight. Oh, I forgot to ask for a window sticker from that website too; can you send it also? thank you for the window sticker alreaght let me check the report and finish my work, i'll keep you posted as soon Me: thumbs up Next day Me: Hi Gary, are we meeting today at noon? Me two hours later: Are we meeting today? Gary: hey sorry for late reply. My friend the mechanic who is supposed to drive me down is busy moving apartments. Is it possible we can arrange on next weekend I will get back to you on what time works best for me after I finish work. Me: Meaning tomorrow? And I've heard nothing since.
