Vacation Village resort called me and left a voicemail claiming I had won a raffle at the Raleigh state fair. I had actually believed it since I did go and sign up for a raffle not knowing it was this. They claimed that I had won a $250 gift card as well as a three night two day stay at a condo in Williamsburg Virginia. They kept repeating the prize and even made me connect my partner on the line to explain all of what we had won. They asked us all our personal information how much we make each year and if we were married single or type of partnership. Then they said all wr had to do is cone to Williamsburg and do a 90 minute tour and explanation of trip and we would receive our voucher and gift card. At this point I still thought it was believable untill they explained that I needed to put down a 99$ deposit which they claimed I would receive back when we came and I was feeling odd about this since I’ve never won anything. I decided

to go ahead and do it and right after doing so they explained if I do not show up it would be non-refundable. That was a huge red flag. They instantly took out my money after the call and didn’t even send an email about the information until the night before. They called five of my close friends in the same area claiming the exact same thing they had won at the Raleigh state fair. I knew it was a scam and emailed them all they said was sorry you can not make it and no refund of my money or anything. This is a complete scam and if you look up the company they have reports of holding you hours past 90 minutes not letting them leave trying to talk them into buying things and if you refuse you don’t get anything they claimed. I do not want to see anyone go through that. I also want to know why the Raleigh state fair would allow this company to gain information and do this to so many people they need to be held accountable. I had to cancel my debit card account and revive a new card and have the transaction disputed which is still being investigated.
