I fell for buying stamps at a cheaper price. Gave the scammer my credit cards info. What should I do? Probably need to cancel my two cards. Was told, first card didn’t go through, then I gave them the info of my second one. How could I be so stupid!?

I ordered stamps from a web site that appeared to be a USPOSTAL WEB SITE and used my credit card. It is not as appeared.

Ordered stamps and immediately felt I was scammed when I received email confirmation. Tried to immediately cancel order but was unable to. I was instructed to return and I would receive a refund. I did not return because I didn’t want to have further transactions with scammer.

Stumbled upon a facebook page for USPS Stamps with a sale on Christmas forever stamps. I clicked on the link which appeared to bring me to the usps webpage so i proceeded to order. Upon submission of the order, I noticed the confirmation email was from an outlook email address which doesnt logically make sense. In the confirmation email, the only way to contact them was via email which i sent to try to cancel the order however I did not receive a response. Upon googling for stamp scams, I found there are so many posts about scams and made me concerned. I also tried to go to usps.com to buy stamps there and noticed the books of stamps I purchased were not even available for purchase further confirming the scam. I am reaching out here to let you know so others are not impacted since it looked very legit until the order confirmation. Thank you!

Ad popped up on Facebook that appeared to look like it was USPS for forever stamps. Clicked on it and submitted order on 8/23/2023. Got email that order placed. Then email order shipped 8/24/2023. On 8/26/2023 got text saying to reply 1 as needed more shipping info. Replied then link asked for information and credit card info.
