Type of a scam Phishing

I googled Spirit Airlines customer service number and my search gave me 833-200-3123 as the phone number. I spoke to an “agent” about an online change I made to my reservation. The “agent” then told me that my reservation was not confirmed, that it was a standby flight and I explained that i was looking right at the reservation and it clearly says it was confirmed, in addition i had paid for the ticket online. The agent went on to tell me that in addition to the ticket I had already purchased on line, which he said was a standby flight, that I had to pay an additional $159.00 to get it confirmed! When I proceeded to tell him that was illegal, bad business, and i was going to call the BBB, he then said he would make a “one time” exception and confirm my flight for free! Early on in the conversation he asked for my name and date of birth. I did give it to him and now I am afraid that they have sensitive info of mine that could be used against me! After I got off the phone with this crook I went to Spirit.com where I purchased my change ticket and saw that it was not the number I called above. Spirit airlines number is 801-401-2222, so I realized that I was almost scammed by the people at this other number. That other number did come from a google search of Spirit Air.
