I received a call from a gentleman who called himself Malik, who said he was calling from the state license benefit association. He claimed that benefits that were previously reserved for law enforcement had been opened up to those with professional licenses in the state. I asked which state (as I am a licensed therapist in several) and he stumbled over that. I was also googling the organization name he gave me and quickly saw it's a known scam. I told him I would check it out online but didn't need benefits at this time, then hung up and blocked the number.
