Okay where to begin. I found Skylar Jo on instagram and immediately liked her and thought she was really nice she replied back back to me and explain what her packages were and told me to look on her website so I did. I ended up picking out the wedding, engagement and videographer package. When it came to scheduling the engagement shoot I couldn’t get her to reply to me for awhile, i was trying to explain to her that my fiancé worked on the road so there was only certain times he would be home so we could take the pictures! Finally when she did reply she was always coming up with excuses as to why she couldn’t do it or why those dates weren’t going to work I told her that I wanted to get the pictures done I so I could use them for my invites so I could send them out by February because my wedding was in June. She promised me she would get my pictures done and to me in plenty of time to get them sent out with invites. That was end of October, November went by, December went by didn’t hear from her she finally got back to me and said she could do it in January I told her certain dates in January that my fiancé would be back home to do the pictures. Finally we agreed on a date the date rolled around and I didn’t hear from her, I had to text her to make sure we were still on and ask exactly where we were meeting at. The actual session went good and she was nice, she got my pictures back to me within a week and they turned out really good, but that was just her reeling me in I think. Didn’t hear from her until a month out from my wedding because I had about 5 people calling me to tell me about the stuff that was going down on Facebook of people complaining and telling their stories of how she scammed them or what she did to them. I got ahold of her to tell her I saw what people were saying and it made me nervous because at that point I had paid her in full in CASH I did get a receipt luckily (that I also had to beg for) and I told her that I was scared because i put my trust in her already paid her and that it would be really hard for me to find someone within a month. She ensured me that she would be professional and get me my pictures and videos back in a timely manner and that she was trying to fix what had happened between her and the other people. At that point all I could do was trust her. My wedding came around also had to contact her first to get a wedding timeline figured out….she did show up on time, she did rush my family pictures which at the time I thought she was doing that because it was hot (June 24th) but after reading other people’s complaints I realized that’s just how she is. super unprofessional. She goes to leave from my wedding later that night and tells me she’ll have my sneak peaks the next day! Of course didn’t get that from her had to ask her where my sneak peaks were a a couple weeks had went by then she informed me she already uploaded them to her Facebook. Would have been nice to know that. So she sends me them finally then from there it’s been absolutely hell. I have text message receipts and times and dates of how many times I tried to get ahold of her to ask where my pictures and video is she would always tell me “oh I’ll have them to you tomorrow, or oh they’ll be to you next week” then I asked her one time where they were she informed me they were all done and uploaded to her computer and computer died and she had to get a new one, and that she would have to re-edit all my pictures. So months have went by it’s now October I finally got my pictures after practically begging for them and STILL didn’t have my wedding video. Had to ask her where that was, she ignored me finally ask her again this last Tuesday she just sends me a link to a YouTube video and it was my wedding video that she uploaded to that 3 WEEKS ago and she didn’t say anything?!? So there was no way for me to save that video off of YouTube I asked her if she would still be sending me a hard copy of it she said it was a usb drive that she would send in the mail. That she told me a month ago she had already sent in the mail that I obviously still don’t have. There was so many times I texted her asking for my pictures and all the excuses. She even told me her grandma died at one point and what’s really sad is that I didn’t even believe her? Then she tried to gaslight and manipulate me telling me that she hopes my grandparents don’t die anytime soon and that I don’t have to clean their house out. (Which even with all that I still told her I was sorry to hear about her grandma) but the fact is you have a business to run and the amount of excuses she had given me at that point made it where I don’t believe a word she says! I asked her why not just get me my things so you don’t have to worry about me and deal with me anymore she just ignored me. I don’t get it I dont get how someone can run a business and treat people like this.? These are people’s memories and important pictures of a very important day! Also when I had went through my pictures there was some missing that I clearly remember taking and when I asked her about it she ignored me until I was blowing up her phone then told me she would go through my photo gallery to look through them? If she had them why not give them to me in the first place? Why not have them with the rest of the pictures? My video was also only 7 minutes long and poorly edited when my contract clearly states it was going to be 10 minutes long. Do NOT hire her.

I found the photographer on Instagram! Messaged her about doing our wedding I really wanted a wedding video done and she offered photography and wedding video package! So I sent my deposit after I filled everything out with her was about a week long process because she would never respond back every quickly! The package we bought from her include engagement pictures so when it got closer to our wedding in October I figured she would reach out to me and set a time up to do our engagement shoot. No I have to get ahold of her and she was going to charge me extra to come out to our house! We have an old vintage car I wanted to use and we’re not able to because she was going to charge us! Once we came to a half way point for both of us after the photoshoot she said she would send us some sneak peaks a few days after the engagement photo shoot and we never got anything almost 2 months later after demanding and trying to get ahold of her she sent them because we were going to use the pictures for the wedding invitations like a lot of people normally do! So because of her I was let sending out my wedding invitations!! Then come wedding day she did not arrive on time and he second shooter was an hour late. How she handled the whole wedding process was chaotic and messy all day! I was not impressed and was not professional! She rushed all of the family photos after the ceremony and I did not get the photos I wanted because she was ordering everyone around! The reception came and she missed the entrance of my husband and I because she was no where to be found! She was rushing all the reception events because her time was almost up supposedly even those she was late getting to the Venue that morning! After the wedding she said again she would send sneak peaks I never got any! Finally after demanding her and trying to get ahold of her we got our wedding photos back in February almost March… mind you our wedding was in October! Most professional photographer send out sneak peaks the next day I never got a single picture until she send everything! Now I am currently still waiting on my wedding video she supposedly took and I have not be able to get ahold of her and no reply to anything or any messages!
