Someone posing as Scott Godfrey that won 698 million lottery in California reached out stating they chose me to receive a 500,000 donation. First I would have to pay a few fees totaling $150.00 first within 5 days of the email.

A message from "Scott Godfrey" a powerball winner of 699.8 million has chosen 20 people to give 1000,000$ to, you are one of the lucky few. Please contact his "agent" Richard Thomas at given number 501-283-7432 via text for confirmation and delivery of your winnings. I saw this in a group text so not only are they sending it to you but they are sending your number to unknown people in a group text I am in a good state of mind so knew this was a scam so didn't proceed further, I also researched this exact info online to find out it is a well known scam. Some may not do this or know better, be careful!

I got a text message saying he was Scott Godfrey and he won $699,000,000.00. He said my cellphone number was randomly drawn and I was to recieve $70,000.00 and a brand new Lexus car. And he wanted me to text his advisor Jenkins Clifton at (719) 256-0610

I received a text stating that I had been randomly selected to receive $300.000 dollars. I only need to text John Mark at

(972) 447-7093 to receive information on where to send $150 to release the funds that would be delivered by FedEx tomorrow.

Scamer sent text indicating that I along with 200 other randomly drawn people would be sent 100,000.00 dollars. Reply text only to be sent to David Eric 424-407-0965. He then replied and asked for your name to confirm it was on their list. Next he wants to know my address, gender, age and phone carrier. Using 'Kindly' send me this info. I am in the state of Tennessee.

I received a text a few minutes ago from 407.334.5161 - it was sent to multiple numbers - this is what it said:

Hello, This is Scott Godfrey the power ball winner of $699.8 Million Power Ball Jackpot in California date 6/72022, I have voluntarily decided to donate the sum of $100,000-00 USD each to 20 citizens so if you get this message then your number was selected after a spin ball. I have spread most of my wealth over a number of charities and organizations.. Kindly get back to my agent in charge Fred smith on this text number (205) 579-1342 Text him this code 121AQ with your full name for confirmation and delivery of your winning if you’re really interested to be one of the luckiest man/Woman NOTE: DONT REPLY BACK HERE THANKS CONGRATULATION IN ADVANCE.

I did not respond to the text or send anything to "Fred" - this is a scam and I am glad there is a place to report these so other people do not get dupped.

Got a text message claiming that PowerBall lotto winner Scott Godfrey had randomly selected 3 phone numbers to win $300,000. each. Only 3 people selected. Go to this number to get more detail: 213- 222-6890. It was sent from number 614 897 7324.

Looked it up online and yes, it was indeed listed as a scam. They also directed people to a YouTube video... https://youtu.be/SET80748K-U

We didn't call either number or go to YouTube video. Didn't want to download a potential virus. Went online instead to search for Scott Godfrey scam, and there were numerous reports of this scam. Too good to be true. Beware and be cautious.

Scammer claim to be Scott Godfrey Powerball winner from California and was giving away some of his winnings to selected people and then ask you to text a code to a different number then once you do that number will ask for all kinds of personal information

Received a text ( see attached) I was selected to receive$50,000 from a powerball winner named Scott Godfrey and to call his agent Jerry Smith. I did not call I researched it and saw people a using Scott Godfrey's name to scam people.

I got a text 5/31 at 5:33 Am saying that his name was Scott Godfrey and he won 699.8 million in the Power Ball Jackpot in CA on 4/2021. Asked to click on link https://.youtu.be/SET80748k-U to see the winners interview. He said he is voluntarily donating $90,000 Million each to 20 citizens so if you get this message then you are a number of selected winners after a spin ball. He is also asking to text his agent in charge to 1-475-325-0241 and give him code 101AZ for confirmation and delivery of your winnings if you're really interested to be one of the luckiest man/Woman

HE also sent text to 6 other people.

On 26 May 2022, I received a text created by (808) 304-8291 and sent two others stating that the writer was Mr. Scott Godfrey the power ball winner. The text stated he was going to give 50 people $50,000, and that I, along with 2 other had been selected after a ball spin as winners. The text also instructed us to call a Mr. James Martins at (619)333-1981 and text him the code LR101to confirm delivery of our winnings. Point of information; Mr. Godfrey does donate money, but not to individuals.
