Report

Two individuals had a table outside of the local Safeway claiming to be doing a bake sale, selling $25 brownies for "Rise Up Youth Global," a charity to help kids with school supplies and other things. They had a poster-sized board that looked like it was from a real charity. They scanned my card, said it didn't scan properly, then scanned it again. (There were 2 charges for $1,000.) They handed us a small wallet-sized print-out for the charity; a quick search of the charity returns people being scammed under the same experience as we had.
