I am in US Army National Guard, I got back from 10 month deployment in Iraq and am a Veteran. I was planning to move out into a new apartment unit. I searched online, and downloaded apps. I downloaded Realtors.com app hoping to find something nice. I found one unit located on 30 Freedom Way, Jersey City, NJ 07305. I saw the pictures and I really loved it and the rent was for $1400 per month. I submitted interested form and few days later I received an email from the "owner" Jordan Carter Browne he asked me if I was interested in the unit and when I would like to move in. I told him I was interested and would like to move in January 10th at the time. He emailed me stating "I go by the name Jordan, a busy working professional and proud father. I love family and friends, and I also like to hang out. All pictures listed under this ad are the exact portrayal of the unit. He still messages me. He also said it's his first time going through the whole process of having new tenants and doing the lease agreement and etc. I agreed, and we moved to the next stages. He sent a picture of his ID and face next to the ID and on the ID it says he lives in Virginia. He did tell me he works in Yorktown, which is in Virginia. But he put up a listing for his apartment because he trusts a tenant would take good care of it. He told me to Zelle the payment to his CPA, he provided me the contact info and his email, and he would email me the keys to the apartment and the lease agreement as well. So I went ahead and sent him $1400 for the deposit, $1400 for the rent and $945 for the prorated rent which at the time was for January 10th move in. He said he had an issue with mailing the keys using USPS, and it was sent back to the sender, and he told me he will mail it again Monday. He called me over the phone, and I told him why it was taking a while to send the keys and the lease agreement.
