Employment offer

I was contacted via text for a data entry clerk position, completed an online test for qualification purposes, a day later was offered the job with this clause in the “offer letter”
2. Our Admin staff are currently working from home and as a result of this, we are currently unable to handle the shipping of your office equipment. However, Pulmo Biotech will be happy to send you a check. The amount on the check will cover the purchase and shipping of your office equipment. The HR Assistant (Miss Amy) will also assist you with this process. You are expected to use the funds from the check to complete the purchase of your office equipment from the company-approved vendor. Kindly advise that the company can rely on your full trust, commitment and diligence in carrying out this task.

My spouse was contacted via LinkedIn for a data entry job. The offer was too good to be true and offered benefits without a rigorous interview process. My wife was sent an e-mail with two links: one to take a test and another to fill out a Microsoft Office Forms form.
