I got a phone call from a woman named Jen from "Protect One." She stated: We were calling to inform you that a recent investigation uncovered major banks and credit card companies have been found guilty of violating federal consumer protection laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Credit Billing Act. What this means for you is that some of your debt will be permanently removed from your credit report, and no further repayment will be necessary. Call 855-446-1152 to hear how to activate your consumer rights and permanently discharge your debt. Again, that number is 855-446-1152. We look forward to speaking with you soon." This is a complete scam!

Because of this, you may be a victim of illegal credit reporting practices and predatory lending. You are no longer legally required to pay back certain debt, and those balances will also be removed from your credit report.
