I wanted to check our property deed. I went to the Md property records and was sent to the Propertyrec.com website. Then I was billed $1 and immediately a series of added bills for downloading, printable copies, monthly charges, etc. I did call the number (1(866) 242-0544) and they did say they would refund my money after a few days. I also cancelled the account and told them that I thought their site was fraudulent. How many other people are being scammed by them? Total charge: 1+7+9+8

I found this site online to get a property report from public databases. The checkout did not say I was signing up for a monthly subscription. My first charge was on 10/02 for a total of $16 for a one-time receipt of 3 different reports. Then in October and November of 2025 I was charge $5 twice each month. In December and January it was increased to $20 twice each month. I never signed up for a subscription service. And, when you access your account online there is no way to cancel it. I finally got to customer service via chat and closed my account. This is a total scam

One-time property search is advertised for $1.00. I selected this option, reviewed the results (which were poor), and left the web site. The next day I saw a $30 charge to my credit card. When I called Propertyrec.com, a rep named “Michael” with a foreign accent looked up the charge and insisted I had signed up for a subscription service. I informed him I had screen shots showing that I only ordered a single, $1.00 report, but he continued to talk over me and insist I had signed up for a subscription. I informed “Michael” I would be contacting the NC Attorney General’s Office to report this fraudulent behavior and then “Michael” said a refund would be provided.

Note: Based on subsequent internet research, it appears the Propertyrec.com uses this deceptive business practice - fraud is what it really is - on a regular basis.

I used their service, but they signed me up for an ongoing subscription without my knowledge and when I called the number that I found on Google (when I googled the charge from my credit card), the customer service rep answered with "Hi, are you calling to terminate your subscription?" which leads me to believe, they are well aware of what they are doing.

Propertyrec.com advertisement said service for propety info was one dollar. They took $1. 00 on 01/29/2025 on 02/10/2025, they went back into my account and took $20 the next
month. I think this scam.

Property records information: pay $1.00 to view. I canceled after the initial view; however, they charged my account $20.00. On the webpage, it shows a $30.00 monthly charge if you want extended access. I called the number listed and was told I should receive a $20 refund in 3-5 business days. However, there's still the issue of a $36.00 NSF charge.

I went to website, requested for a report and paid the $1.00 requested which was on Oct. 5. This morning, on Oct. 16, there was a $20 charge on my bank account. When I called, they immediately answer the phone saying "Are you calling to cancel your subscription" like they already know. Have your 6-digit debit card available and the date you received the email/property tax report, and they'll refund your money and cancel your subscription you never opened.

I requested a property report for $1. They took out 20 and then the following month tried to take another 20 without any authorization from me. Have contacted bank to put a stop and to retrieve 20 taken out of checking account last month.

- Chicago, IL, USA

I didn't have my property documents on me, so I went online to search for something I needed to give to someone else. After using Google as my search engine, I was routed to the website propertyrec.com. I paid $1 to search for my Property Index Number (PIN), but I never got it. I was emailed a lot of other information on the property that looked like they stole from the website that listed the property. Afterward, someone named Jeremy - which I believe was a fake name - texted my phone asking if I got what I needed. I responded, "No, I didn't, and that I didn't appreciate them taking my card information to steal from me." I was then texted to send the full property address and info I was looking for and an expert will email the report to me. I never responded because that was my original request. Today, I noticed $20 a month had been withdrawn from my checking account twice, so I called the number associated with the charges at 855 294 1102. A masculine voice answered by the name of Marian and immediately agreed to return my $40 and sent two emails to confirm the promise. He stated that because I didn't cancel my subscription, I was charged. I never agreed to a subscription online, via text, by phone, or with an email. Anyway, I found my experience worth sharing. I hope this helps someone avoid being scammed by these people. $40 isn't a lot a money but they still have my card info that now I have to cancel. The inconvenience is RIDICULOUS!!!
