I attempted to contact my auto insurance company (Progressive) using their main contact number 877-280-8418, however I mistakenly dialed 800-280-8418 (same number, different prefix) and eventually reached a call center agent who asked to verify my account information. I provided name and DOB, then I was asked for my 16-digit credit card number for "system verification" and refused. I was pressured again to provide the number before I ended the call. This appears to be a scam operation posing as Progressive auto insurance, attempting to steal information.
