I received an email from portal.averahealthjobs.org about a work from home job pretending to represent a real company called Avera Health. I was told to download the Signal Application for communication. I was sent to https://portal.averahealthjobs.org/ to fill out employment paperwork. I gave all of my information for their I9 form including SSN. I gave bank information for direct deposits. After they wanted to send me an emailed check to mobile deposit to purchase equipment. I did not deposit and began making calls. I called the real Avera Health HR department who informed me of the scam.

Receive email from portal.averahealthjobs.org ([email protected]) stating that they are hiring for a remote customer service rep. Then they want you to download the Signal app to communicate. Have you fill out a virtual questionnaire with info then hire you do an "on boarding" where they receive the rest of you info. Then they tell you that they are going to deposit money in your account so that you can buy equipment needed for job.
