I got contacted on my phone about a house. The person that contacted me claimed to be the landlord and stated that he wanted to rent the house out to me and my husband. We had paid an application fee through Apple Cash for 170 dollars. Then I had a weird feeling so I looked up the Bell County property owners online and it’s stated that the house that I was inquiring about was owned by a company called Opendoor. I called the customer service and asked if a name by Marcus Powell who claimed to be the landlord was the landlord, and the customer service said no. That it’s only owned by Opendoor. No private party has access to rent the house out. And there is no private owner attached to the house that I was inquiring about.
