On 06.26.23, my Facebook feed advertised a psychic reading. I called the number and they said I could speak with a master level physic for $85 for 15 minutes. I declined. Then they offered me a tarot card reading for $40 for 40 minutes and a complimentary 5 minute reading with aforementioned master level psychic. I accepted. A few seconds later, I received an inbound call from a 1-800 number while I was still on the phone with a customer service rep. I answered the call and it was the master level psychic giving me the 5 minute complimentary reading. When the call ended, I was charged $54.24, plus 132.79 and then another $322.49. The third charge for $322.79 was declined as my credit card suspected fraud. I called the company back and told them that I had not agreed to these charges. I had only agreed to $40 for 40 minutes. They claim the charges are valid since the complimentary went past 5 minutes. I was not aware that the 5 minutes had lapse. The company claims that a recording came on to tell me this. I did not hear the recording because the psychic was speaking. I did not give my express consent to continue with the reading. I was under the impression that my $40 tarrot card reading would be done next - this was not done. I called the company today and asked them to remove my credit card information from their system and they said No. I have since cancelled my credit card and asked for a replacement. I am hoping that you can look into this and prevent these types of scams from happening again.
