I was seeking health insurance coverage and provided a phone number to be contacted by an agent. The agent called almost immediately from the same area code I have. We went over recent medical history, the cost of coverage, and the agent informed me all that would be needed was payment information. He ensured my insurance cards would be emailed to me following the phone call and that my coverage would begin the following day. Upon receipt of the insurance cards, it was apparent they were entirely fake. I reached out to my bank and placed a stop on my account.
