Man with foreign accent asked if I was Chris Byrne. "Mispronounced last name"

I replied "yes".

He then asked me an inaudible question.

When I asked him t repeat it.....he hung up.

+1 248-833-0506 called at 1:52pm on 3/7/17. A man's voice said "can you hear me" I said "Yeah" then I remembered it's a scam and hung up. Caller ID said the call was from Michigan which is my state. Call lasted 20 seconds.

Call began

"Hi this is ? From customer service, can you hear me? I amswered yes and then he began saying I had been selected for free Disney tickets. I immediately hung up.

I later googled this and learned that this was a scam to get me to say YES and then record this and charge me for goods and services I do not want.

Please stop this!

Today I received a call from a restricted number. I did not answer it, but they left an extensive message saying they were going to serve papers tomorrow at my home or employment. They claim that they have paper to serve related to my name and SSN. Nowhere in the message do they use my name. If you listen closely to the message you can tell it is prerecorded, but they speak in a way that makes it sound like the call is specific.

They went so far as to give me a case number and a phone number. The number is 713-568-4030. I did an internet search on that number and it has been reported that others have received the same call from that number and others.

I believe this is yet another scam like the IRS calls.

Message left by an "Isabel Cooper" on my personal linemail, without mentioning the company she was calling from or a reason for her call, just that "she's had my paperwork on her desk" for no specified reason or purpose, and that I needed to call back immediately.

Did not return the call, it seems like improper business practices or a scam.

Found other reviews mentioning receipt of various fraudulent and inappropriate calls from 508-533-1905, -1904, -1901, -1902, and -1903 with similar wording and evasiveness.

Party calling (name not provided even when asked for name) looking for person to represent who was "talked into" buying a timeshare. For a "fee" would represent the called party in releasing them from responsibility for the timeshare fees/costs.

Scammer knew my first and last name; knew I once had a timeshare. Did not/would not advise where info was obtained. I told scammer they had the wrong party and hung up. .

Refused to mention amount of his "Fee" until I agreed to his offer.
