I received a phone call which was noted as "spam risk". The message did not state who was calling. The message stated that a transaction of $399.00 was made on my account. If I did not make this transaction call "804-390-5641. I do not have a Pay Pal account and I did not call the number.

Found ad on Recycler.com for mini golden doodle puppies for sale for $700. I started corresponding with seller via text. Seller stated they were no longer local and had just moved to Portland but could ship the puppy to me and payment would be required in advance in full before shipping. The referred me to the above website and sent photos of puppies to me. Since it would be an out of state transaction I wanted to be sure it was not a scam so I asked for another current photo with the puppy and a piece of paper with today's date on it along with my name. Once I asked for that they said they did not have time for all that and had sold 4 other puppies without this. They said they were a good Christian family and would not cheat anyone and to please just trust them they wouldn't disappoint me. I then looked up the email on google and found it that the email was associated with another pet scam.

This was the message I was sent. I just copied and pasted it. It was received on my school e-mail, and when I looked up the e-mail address, it most closely matched a company in New Zealand that didn't have a Victoria or John on their list of staff. I forward the e-mail to my advisor and e-mailed the project manager at the New Zealand company to let them know a previous employee is potentially using their old work e-mail to phish people.

I don't know if this message is legit or not. I get texts like this often. They always want more info from me, and I hesitate to open their unvalidated link or give them more of my personal info. Can you help me discover if this is legit or a fraud attempt of some sort? Thanks.

Below is the text from a similar message. I have the same questions. They always make it sound like they have "something special for you, only you." And tell you to act fast before your deal, reward, opportunity (i.e., con) expires. Don't think or ask questions, just click our link and open the snake pit in Pandora's Box. That's how it feels to me, but I am unemployed, and IF this is a legit message, I could use some "assistance." See below:

Received phone call stating my vehicle warranty had expired. Press 1 to speak to representative. Representative stated my warranty had expired and wanted to confirm it. I stated it did not expire until end of june. They ask for my vehicle information. I ask them what company they represented. They said thank you and hung up.

The postcard was missing key information: store where item was coming from, item purchased, and what service would be delivering the item. Only relevant information provided was the phone number and a hand written tracking number. Who sends a postcard to schedule a delivery? Definite scam!!

Caller left voicemail claiming my social security card had been cancelled and therefore any benefits I receive from the government were also cancelled if I didn’t contact them to correct it.

I don’t receive any government assistance and my card is fine. I believe they’re targeting the elderly as I share a phone account with my parents who are in their 70’s.

A female voice (possibly computer generated) said "We need to charge you bank account $300 to continue your computer tech support". I immediately hung up.. I have had calls from this same outfit before.

At approximately 10:25AM, I received an Automated call stating this is not a Solicitation stating that they have been monitoring my credit report and I have been approved for a Interest Free Credit Card by pressing "1" to complete the process. This is not true which and can not do because I have that Information Frozen until I give the Code to allow a report to be made.

I call 731-609-6739 back approximately 11:10AM which went directly to a Persons' Cell Phone.

I have received several calls from this number saying they have a complaint on me. Then they want me to "pay a fee" to resolve the complaint. This is noted on the BBB website as these scammers are trying scaring victims into paying by claiming to have filed a “civil complaint” against them. When they called previously. I told them to file the complaint. I telemarketer said I was rude.

They called again several times, but i did not answer the phone. I think the number has been spoofed. But you can hear others in the background, so it sounds like a "boiler room" operation.

They called again on 2/19 and I told the rep to quit calling me. I then called the number back, and asked to talk with a supervisor. Another woman came on the line, an I told her I was going to report the call to the FTC (which I did). Again I asked them to quit calling.

The phone call is always the same. A VERY low-grade robotic voice saying "Hello, this is not a scam. This is a response to your request for information on your free medical grade back brace." I have repeatedly asked to be taken off of their list, notified them that I am on the do not call registry, and reported their calls but it still persists two to three times a month.

Phone call received from this number, changes every time but it always begins with "This is not a sales call, do not hang up." Requests information regarding personal medical history, medicare information, and attempts to solicit details for medical insurance. Call received from different number every time, no person on the line but an automated message. Repeatedly informed them to remove the personal landline number registered to my retired, 70+yro grandfather from their calling list but calls continue. Incredibly annoying and potentially dangerous for someone who doesn't know better.

This number has called me numerous times. They are offering zero percent interest on all my credit cards. I have asked to be removed from their list more than once and they continue to call. Today the "representative" decided to be rude and kept saying "I will send you love. You need love? I'm sending some your way." He wouldn't give my a company name or agree to take me off the list. Only continued to talk over me as I was asking to be removed.

An older woman of Asian descent ringed my door bell around 1730-1800 tonight. My mother answered the door. She told her she was collecting for a charity for children. I was outside and I did not hear the door bell but I went inside the home and my mom was talking to her and she said she was not interested. I then came in the home and my mother was ending the conversation. My mother told me after she was selling Lindt chocolates or Purdy chocolates and they were 2 for 20 dollars and then said 4 for 20 dollars Canadian ( I also overheard this part as it was near the end of the conversation when I entered the home). But, my mother told me these Lindt chocolates were 3 or 4 in a box and are cheaper to buy at a store. My mom said no and she left. My mom told me it was a charity for children but she forgot or did not understand at first which one it was. The lady had a volunteer tag on her neck as she showed my mother this as she told me but I do not know if it has a photo, described the organization or if it was just a simple tag that said volunteer as my mother did not really focus on that in detail as she just told me she had a tag on her neck that said volunteer. She then went to other houses around my neighbourhood. I think this lady is selling chocolate for she wants to make money (as she is poor) or she may have gotten these chocolates by some other means (stolen, gift etc) and she wants to get rid of them and make a dollar or two. The lady is short, Middle Aged between 45-64 years with a thick Asian accent brown pants, blue hat from what I saw when she left my mothers property.

Recorded message from 203-516-7978. "I am calling from the process division. I have received an order for 2 pending matters. As I am unable to reach you by phone, I will be actively pursuing you at your place of employment and at your residence" Attempted to call back, no answer. I do not owe anything to anyone. They have called 4 times in last 2 days.

A phone call to my cell came in from the "reported" number, 800-754-9837, and said if I didn't call them back at the same number, they would not be responsible for possible legal action taken against my name. He finished the scam call by saying, "Have a blessed day." Awwww
