I receives a letter and the return envelope has a xerox copy of he home depot logo no address shown.  The letter has the letterhead of North American Financial Services and it shows an email address, fax number, file number and pin number. The letter goes on to say  I won a Mega Sweepstakes Raffle and that I have been awarded $250,000.00. It also states that North American Financial services has been contracted by the Multi-State Gaming Assoc to notify me and process the claim. They have enclosed a heck for $4,620.00 to assist with the applicable tax and insurance handling fee. The total applicable tax and insurance handling fee is $4,000.00, to contact James Peterson at the claims officer @ 1-437-772-7419. For security purpose I am to use the claim number and pin number assign me when I call.

To avoid misappropriation and mishandling of prize of money they will need to verify the correct name, address.

They have attached a form that I need to detach and return verifying that I am the person on the letter head and that my name and address and personal information is correct.

I am not sure if they are looking for me to cash the check and then try to collect or what.

PS: The check says is a cashier's check and the log on it is TD bank (not sure id it's a copy of their log)

Letter received in the mail stating I won the lottery(250,000)and was given a check for $4,620.00 for applicable taxes

Received letter on the mail with a $4,620 check stating I won $250,000 sweepstakes prize. I ignored the letter. Letter indicated I could use the check to pay $4000 in fees. Letter said my phone number was drawn in a lottery entitled Home Mega sweepstakes.
