This seems to be identical to the scam reported on March 22, 2018. Received a blank USPS money order for 996.00. Told to cash it at my bank and keep 150.00 as my "commission", go to Walmart spend up to 17.00 keep 15.00 out for transfer fees and send the balance of 814.00 to Carl Norwitz at 201 Pearl st. Cleburne Tx via Walmart-2-Walmart Transfer.

Have received several calls in the past few weeks on this scam. We do not answer the phone if the number is not one which we recognize but the message is always the same: that we have committed a fraud in our tax payments and we are about to be arrested and to call the number provided above 202-545-6474

These people called my father first and told him that my ex husband had filed a judgement against me and I have one hour to call them back. When I called them back the man asked for a case number which I gave him. He then asked for my birthday and when I told him no he told me I have your full name full SSN and your DOB already so you may as well just give it to me. He told me it was a debt for an energy company and the address was an address I've never lived at (but my sister did) the company that provides energy in IL is Ameren and you can't get anything else around here (they have the market all in their court). I told him that when I left my ex husband in 2013 that I paid the final bill for my electric and they were wrong. He told me the bill was totaled almost 2,000 and that I did not answer the letter they sent. I told him I never got a letter and asked if they could resend said letter so I can fight this because I know I paid. Continued to threaten to sue me and put leans on me so that I couldn't do anything to refinance a house or car and if I did they would get their money first ect. I finally hung up on him after he told me I had till today to get back with them or they would file suite.

In the past month, we have received three voice mail messages from a computer-generated male voice, stating in a very threatening manner, that we need to contact them immediately to avoid prosecution for a crime, and that the police have been contacted. All three messages were identical. A neighbor has received the same voice mail message.

Actual message read as follows: " demand has been prepared on (my home address). Plz complete request www.weyiqksa.com/2HNKDN "

I searched the px #, came back Colorado. I don't know what "demand" means as far as my property is concerned so I went no further.

They just told me that it was for magazine subscriptions and that I could cancel the subscriptions if I paid them $199.00 to cancel the account and I would not owe the remaining $400.00. When I objected he said fine then I would owe the remaining $400.00 plus the $199.00 for a total of $699.00 when I objected to owing that he said I will send the account to collections and hung up on me. This 415 691-4280 phone number has been reported with by multiple other individuals as a scam as well.

Received a call from a robotic voice that did not identify me by name nor provide a company name, just the contact phone number 469-480-8857. The message indicated that my family and I had committed tax fraud and that the company had tried to notify me about this matter in the past 6 months. To date, I had not received any notification via a phone call or mail prior to this ONE call. A lawsuit was going to be presented to the U.S. government and I needed to call the phone number provided. The IRS would have contacted me long before now to advise of any issue and they do that by mail via the U.S. Postal Service.

Voicenail left telling me not to disregard this call and to call back but if no call returned by me or my attorney(????) then he wishes me bad luck and that bad that can fall on me!

Caller quickly stated the call could be recorded then asked for Bradley. I said there is no one at this number with that name. She asked if Bradley was there, I told her she had the wrong number. She stated again that this call could be recorded and said that my number would be placed on a do not call list. Then she said that again and I said thank you. The call lasted 26 seconds.

- Chillicothe, OH, USA

Called my work as asked if I was ___. When I said yes, they hung up.

- Elk River, MN, USA

Received telephone call from 863-500-2023. Person asked "Is this..." and used my first name. I said "Yes" and then they said they got the wrong number, giggled and hung up. I believe this to be a "Yes" scam for identity theft where a person's voice saying "Yes" is recorded and used to make unauthorized purchases, especially if they have other personal and/or financial information to use with it.

- Plymouth, MI, USA

Do not give your info to this number!~ It is completely automated, they do not state what business they are with other than: "We are calling on behalf of your credit union for recent activity on your card ending in ***.." They got my last numbers right, and I contacted the call back number listed in the voicemail they left. It was another automated voice, asking for your info of the last six digits of your credit card, the security code, your social security number, etc. DO NOT TYPE/TEXT ANY OF YOUR INFO TO THEM. IT IS A SCAM

Automated voice gave details to decrease student loans or possibly make them go away. Asked to press multiple buttons for more information, but since I don't have any student loans, I chose to hang up

Robo call from advising that your Microsoft Windows Key has expired and you are requested to call "1-800-525-1537" to renew your license.

I just hung up as I know that Microsoft Windows Keys are good as you own the computer that they came on or transferable if you purchased a builders Key. A lot of people that are not computer savvy might fall for this scam.

- Pocatello, ID, USA

I received a phone call with an automated female voice informing lower than 6% rates on a credit card I was accepted for. I knew this was a scam straight away, but I wanted to have my number removed from their system. I pressed 9 as requested and kindly asked my petition. The gentleman with a thick middle eastern accent proceeded to berate, harrass, swear, and insult in any manner he could. I remained calm and cordial, asking to have my number removed from records. He informed me that the call was charging me $4 a minute, though his math was off when he described how much he had made from me already. I doubt it. I noticed his reluctance to hang up so I figured I'd run some missing persons past him in case he hears anything and could help, not that it sounded like he wanted to. Immediately he confessed to shooting and killing one individual just last night. I have contacted the sheriff's office and informed them of his actions.

- San Francisco, CA, USA

Robo claimed my apr would increase if no reply. Caller also said repeated calls were made to contact me which is impossible since my phone is always on and with me 24 hours every day.

- Toledo, OH, USA

We've been receiving several robo calls, though we've never answered them, only listened to the voice mails left. The voice mail starts by saying, "this is extremely time sensitive and urgent. We found that there is fraud and misconduct on your tax which you are hiding from the Federal government." We are then instructed to call the number, as above. Number is then repeated.

Today, the same call happened twice on our land line, as it has across the last several days.

I've called 3 local news stations and we have left the phone number on an IRS website.

- Griffith, IN, USA

Representative called and would not give name or state clearly the company she was calling from. All she asked was for my birthdate, for me to say yes, and stated she was calling for personal business. I believe the company she claims to represent is synnex.

- Mount Vernon, OH, USA

703-291-8440 The person asked, 'Is this (they inserted my first name)".

I replied, 'Yes', then the person hung up.

I knew at that moment, it was a scam.

- Middle River, MD, USA

Received a letter in the mail first class postage with Fi all Notice in red at the top claiming that they have important information regarding our home load and we need to call within 3 days of receipt of the letter. We received no other such letters, and there was no identifying information about the company name. They had our (incorrect) mortgage amount and a pin. My husband called the number and it turns out they are using a third party call center to forward the calls to their company. Still could not get the company name over the phone- the rep knew very little about the company. They asked about what our Apr is, my name, and wanted a copy of mortgage, none of which we provided. They claimed they could refinance our mortgage and drop the mortgage insurance payments. So many red flags.
