- Cleveland, OH, USA

I answered the phone and I heard some noise and then she said "oh, are you there?" and I said yes. She said oh my headset slipped so I didn't hear you. My name is Emily and you have stayed at one of our resorts in the past and we'd like to offer you a 70% discount. I hung up on her.

- Green Bay, WI, USA

It was the "Can you hear me" scam. I answered yes by reflex. He started out asking how I was and went right into the question. I had no time to even remember the scam that I did know about. I have not noticed any financial burdens as of yet. Offering travel/vacation

They started the conversation by asking "Can you here me?" And i said yes. They went on to say i had qualified for a vacation. I then hung up

- Roseville, CA, USA

This appears to be a "can you hear me" attempt looking for yes responses to be used later. Male caller said I was pre-approved for some vacation promotions. I did respond yes and then realized what was going on and hung up. My number is on the do not call registry. Call occurred 2/3/17 at 9:32 am PST.

- Los Angeles, CA, USA

A recording calls and asks if you can hear them to get you to say "yes". Then tells you you won a vacation or something. I don't know the repurcussions of me saying "yes" to hearing then. I just read they take your money by twisting your yes to mean something else.

- Fulton, MO, USA

Said I didn't know him and I know have a phone number he used to have and he was trying to log into his account and wondering if I received a weird text? I said 'i got NOTHING' and hung up.

I have had the same number for over 15 years -- so think this is some sort of SCAM

- Prairieville, LA, USA

The caller says they are with customer support. They offer a free trip to Disney World and free food vouchers. They ask you if you have a credit card. I believe they are looking for you to say the word "yes". When I inadvertently said it after I told them I was not interested, they said I didn't qualify and they hung up. It is possible they were just looking to get me to say the word "yes" to use to sign me up for a service I have not ordered.

I was called from 718-878-6184 by an Officer Rios, telling me I had won $750,000, , did not give me a name of the place I won the money from. He wanted me to give him a credit card or debit card number so I could pay 1% (2,500.00) so the prize would be delivered to me. He gave me a password 060179132015 and I was to call J. Hernandez at 202-905-2253 give the password and provide the payment information ( card number). I called the number and told them I did not have 2,500.00 to pay, he then hung up. I believe this was a scam and will not answer if they call back.

Left voicemail stating to call within 24 hours with a case number they left. Clearly a scam. No company name given The voicemail box they left the message on did not identify me as the owner of the voicemail but they left my name on there anyway. How do they know it was the right number??

I received 2 automated phone calls on September 28th, 2016. One at 1:13 PM and another at 3:46 PM. They said that I have potentially 4 or more potential charges against me based off of an error on my tax return. It then went on to tell me that I have only 24 hours to call 202-241-0604 or else police will be sent to arrest me and put me in jail for federal tax crimes. I never called the number because it was obviously a scam for a plethora of reasons. But it surely cannot be legal make up potential charges and claim a person will be arrested if they do not call a certain number and use their service.

I received a call on my cell phone this morning from 417-233-5224. They claimed to be a third party security firm. They told me that there have been a lot of false calls on peoples alarms in my area. They them wanted to know if I rented or owned my home. I told them that my security system worked great and what was the name of their company. When I asked that they told me quickly that they had to go and hung up the phone. I did a reverse look up and found that this was a home phone in Republic MO. I have called my local sheriff's office and reported it.

I received a "Notice of Reward" post card with no return address on the card. I called the number given on the card 18777998752, I spoke to a representative named Amanda Garcia. She explained it was a savings packet for Target or Walmart but wanted me to cover the S&H cost of the packet which was the amount of $2.95 prepaid with a credit or debit card. I have attached a picture of the post card. They didn't even have my name spelled correctly.

The Claim # 035059262 which I imagine is the same on all the post cards. I investigated through the internet and found one similar from 2014 the phone number was different.

I received a phone call at my residence stating that it was the Internal Revenue Service and that they had a warrant for my arrest and stated that I had to call their number to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, I deleted said message, but I still wanted to contact your office to save other people from this telephone scam.

Several Robo-calls from 360-362-4728, 509-315-1157, 512-838-3294 and 817-932-0819 starting March 8 and still going on. When voicemail is left, all state that the "IRS is filing lawsuit against you" and to "call immediately on our department number". We did not answer any calls, since the IRS has better means to contact us.

Caller (with heavy Middle Eastern accent) said I had been chosen from the census to receive a $6700 Government grant. all I had to do was contact Rose Milton at 845-999-0204 with my authorization code NM130 and within 30 minutes I can go to Western Union to pick up my money. The call came from 646-593-7957. They had my name, phone number and address.

I have a digital answering machine (I do NOT have caller ID) for my landline phone. On Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:48 pm, I received a voicemail message (I did NOT answer the phone - I did a *69 to get info on the caller). The message was received from my own phone number. The message said "there was no problems with my current account - it was urgent that I contact them concerning them lowering my interest rates - eligibility expires shortly so please consider this my final notice".

I have been contacted twice this week by a Terri Wesley. I was not given a company name or location. The lady asks me about my student loans (which are up to date) and told me I need to pay $200 and can put on her credit card.

When I state I have no credit card, they hang up immediately.
