I will keep the email I received for my records for a time, but I didn't and won't reply because I can see the email they sent has "pharm" instead of "pharma" like the actual company's email address and the name they gave for the secretary/HR manager is Danielle instead of the actual name which is Nancy.

I've never heard of this Japanese company, don't speak Japanese, and haven't been applying for jobs. Plus, what kind of financially geared job offer doesn't require that I have some sort of specific background in econ/fin? Needless to say, my "scam" senses started lighting up, and it took me a few minutes of research to determine this email was almost certainly some sort of scam. Here is the email:

Hello (First Name Last Name),

Our R&D team shortlisted your email address via CRM recruitment platform as a possible match for this position. We are in need of a reputable company/individual in America/Canada that can act as our company financial representative with commission/benefits. Your business/profession does not matter, this will only take a few minutes of your time weekly.

Secretary/Human Resource Manager(Assist),
