We received a deceptive letter in the mail giving the impression that we need to pay these people $175 in order to stay compliant with New Jersey annual reporting requirements for LLCs. The letter attempts to appear as an official state communication, gives a deadline of 11/20/2026 and is marked "Final Notice". Predatory companies trying to pose as government agencies is a very common scam business owners must constantly deal with.

Letter states that my LLC is due for renewal (it is) but then states that Next Step Filings is a "commercial filing service" but does not state that it will file your $100 Oregon filing fee for their required sum of $175.

This company sends a FINAL NOTICE letter to make you think you have to file through them or you'll be out of compliance with annual reports for the state. It's very deceptive, filing with the state is $75, filing with them is $175.

These scammers used my business name, and name and address. Their document looked quite official. They even offered a QR code for quick payment and a $10.00 savings when online "registration" is completed. They're address is a PO box, and their .com is simply a .co for their online business name. They also offered, "You can file it yourself for the state fee of $70 directly with the State Corporation Commission", not the real name for the state office for annual filing.

I received a letter stating that my business needed to file by March 31st in order to remain active and demanding I pay $175 to renew before the deadline. Nowhere on this letter does it state that this is an independent business not associated with the state of Washington. It is mis-representing itself in order to gain money from small businesses.

We received a notice saying it was time for our "2025 Annual Registration" for "Commercial Filing Services for Washington Corporate Entities". They say to "Avoid costly penalties & keep your business active & complaint" It also says "Failure to file can result in your business being administratively dissolved under RCW 23.95.605" they provide a link for payment, ask basic questions pertaining to the business, and ask for payment at the bottom of the page. On the back of the form the send via Postal Mail, there is a WA state logo, and a partial quotation of the RCW 25.15.806.
