I found this academy online looking to get a certification in Medical Billing and Coding and enrolled in Necole's learning academy in September for a Medical Billing and Coding course that would take 8 weeks starting on October the 15th. Tuition fee is $1800 with a $500 deposit nowhere on their website does this say that it is a self taught course, and nowhere through the email communications that I had with them did they say that it is a self taught course with no instructor On September 13th I paid the $500 deposit, on September 17th I purchased pink scrubs that were $66.94 because it states on their website as well as the orientation email that I received from them that we have to wear them when we come in person, I also purchased the 5 coding books that were $500. On October 11th I received an email confirmation from Evolve that Chaquarra Mitchell has enrolled me into course 167975_cmitchell482_1002 a user name had already been created for me and if I had any questions to reach out to my instructor. On October 15th I went for orientation completed all necessary paperwork, agreed to the classroom rules and regulations, and signed, completed and paid for the CPR class that was $55, paid $20 for a badge $50 for general fee's and another $100 payment towards the tuition fee, I was given a calendar with dates that assignments and tests were due and then was told by Maria the Administrative Coordinator that I would be receiving an email from her with instructions on how to turn in assignments and was told that my course would be online and that I would receive further instructions from my instructor Chaquarra Mitchell, within a day with and that I could start reading chapter's. On October 17th I checked my email and still had not received anything from my instructor and called them to see why I have not received any information about the classes, I was then told by Maria that this was a self taught course, I then asked then why am I paying $1800 for tuition if there is no instructor, she told me that she did not have an answer to that and transferred me to Vanessa, I asked her the same thing why am I paying a tuition fee if I have to teach myself and why was this not told to me during orientation and most importantly why is this not on their website nor was not put in any email communication that I have had with them, she then told me that if I wanted I could come to the Jacksonville location and bring my books and they would try to answer any questions that I had over the workbook material but there was no instructor. I then told her that this is false advertisement and that nowhere on their site does it state that the Medical Billing and Coding is a self taught course. The initial email that I received states" To register a $500 deposit due at the time of registration. Payment plans are available to complete

tuition which requires a $100 payment every 2 weeks. All tuition fees must be paid in full by the 4th week once classes have started. This course is 8 weeks long. It is online but you will have to come to in-person class the first day and last day at 9am. Class assignments are held on Mondays and Fridays. First Day of Class Students MUST have: State issued DL/ID

? Social Security Card

? High school diploma/GED/High school transcript (If you do not have one it can be waived)

? Student must come in Pink scrubs. (You MUST purchase your scrubs from CBS Scrubs in Jacksonville to ensure you

are getting the correct color.)

? 2024 Step-By-Step Medical Coding Textbook & Workbook (Buy from amazon.com est. $52.07 & $33.21)

? CPT 2024 Professional Edition Book (Buy from amazon.com est. $161.45)

? ICD-10 CM Expert 2024 Book (Buy from amazon.com est. $118.60)

? HCPCS Level II Expert 2024 Book (Buy from amazon.com est. $110.16)

Fees due on 1st day of class:

? $55 CPR Certification: You will receive BLS CPR from our school. If you already are CPR certified, please bring a copy

or email one to us.

? $20 Student badge

? $50 General supply fee

Fees due towards the END of the program:

? $84 for Study Guide & Practice Tests

? $129 for National Exam Fee

? $20 for Ceremony Pin (Optional)

Nothing in the email does it state that it is a self taught class and they are false advertising for this course and charging $1800 for tuition with no instructor as well as making their students pay for all other costs outside of the tuition and this is not right and are scamming individuals out of their money and providing false hopes on getting certified.
