Type of a scam: Tech Support

Received an Email (very professional/official looking) from Norton Life lock. They said money would be withdrawn from my account if I didn't notify them to cancel this transaction. ( I had already paid for a years subscription for computer protection so I knew something was wrong.) I called the 1-800 number given on this bill; and talked to the person and explained that I was not going to authorize this transaction....he told me the transaction and withdrawal from my checking account had already been made !! He told me that the only way to straighten out this matter was to go through "their" process to rectify this matter. I told him I would not go through their process and I felt this was a scam. He said who told you this was a scam? I responded that I was going to report this to the ScamPulse.com and he hung up several seconds later. (I checked my Checking Account and no money had been withdrawn from my account as the person said had been done)
