Type of a scam Debt Collections

Called me 4 days ago and said I owed 4,000+ dollars to t-mobile and that a process server was out ready to serve papers and put a lien on my house, but if I paid 2300 right now before I got served then we could settle this out of court. I paid it with a credit card.

These people had all of my information. They called my husband and work. They told me I owe almost $4000 on a credit card and they were taking me to court. I got scared and paid half of the debt. I started searching for the company online. The number they used to call me did not match with the phone number online. I have decided not to pay the rest of the money until they send me to court

This is what he said when they called "Attention (My Name), your case number is (My Case Number). This is Martin I have legal documents requiring your signature today if you will be unavailable to sign for the document. So if there any questions pertaining to the lien on the property get in contact with this one office at 1888-239-5365. Feeling to get in contact with the firm will result in further legal action against you without your knowledge." I called the number and the person identified the company as Murdock and Associates so I hung up. I researched it and like previous poster said they are a Law Firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada So when they called they did not identify why they were calling and lied and threatened serving me for a lien on my property that I do not have and that they would have had to obtain a judgement from me to do this which they did not and I an Judgement Proof as my only income is Social Security Disability. As far as I can tell they are breaking the law by threatening a lien on my property(what property?) and serving me documentation to sign. Nobody came to my home. They also cannot threaten legal action against you without my knowledge. They also call use the phone number 1-888-239-5365

I first received a call from a womn who asked if she was speaking to me and i said yes. She wanted to know if id be home within the next hour because someone was trying to serve me legal documents. I began asking questions ans she was getting a little irate stating that I had to call a number to gwt any other information. I was given a phone number and case number. I called wanting to know what was realky going on and the man was very rude asking me for personal information. He knew my birthday and address but was asking for my social. He stated he was from murdock and associates and that i had a balance with citi that was so high thry were going to file a lawsuit against me. He got me and ended the call stating it sounded like I wasnt listening. They called my sister from another number before they called me

This same number called my mom and I about a cc line that was she supposedly opened in 2007. They have my mom's social, address, and my phone number as well. They sent over a settlement letter but the address listed was for CA and I looked up the law firm and they are based in LV.
