I received a text message first from "Mrs Angie Anderson" stating she was looking for a personal assistant and to email if interested and provided email address ("general errands $500 a week"). I emailed her to get more information because it sounded fishy. She emailed me back and was very pushy that she was looking for someone to pick up purchases at stores that are already paid for and also packages from the post office and have them dropped off somewhere and had to start immediately. She said she was an artist with a lot of "elite patronage and I am currently in Paris". I played along and asked her where she found my resumé and she said Indeed. She asked my age, occupation etc. This person must have gotten my info from Indeed because she had my contact info. After exchanging 2 or 3 emails she said she was having a $500 check overnighted to me so I could start right away. She said a Man that does errands for her would contact me via text to make sure I received the check and "he will give you your assignment". I had already heard of this scam of sending people checks, which get deposited, then bounce so there was no way I was cashing that check and honestly I didn't even open the envelope, I just wrote return to sender and dropped it in outgoing mail box. I blocked any email or phone numbers associated with this mess. Please beware if it sounds too good to be true, it is!
