I received a letter in the mail addressed to my LLC. It said that now that I was registered with the State of Missouri and filed my documents that I had one step left in order to buy my optional Certificate of Good Standing. It proceeds to say what one is used for and to confirm the accuracy of the information below for the certificate. It includes what entity type my business is, my date of registration and the fee amount. It then asks to confirm my business name and address as well as my identification number are correct. Then for my name, email, and phone number emphasizing not to skip this step in bold letters. Then asks for a check or money order payable in the amount of $85.00 to MO Corporate Certificates 2677 Highway K Suite 301, O'Fallon, MO 63368. The final part asks for my signature and the date. The letter looks legitimate until reading the fine print that it's "optional" but they also include towards the top of the page "PLEASE RESPOND BY: 05/11/2026" making it seem urgent and required.
