This was a bizarre experience resulting from my attempt on Nov. 30 to purchase online a refurbished laptop from Microsoft. A charge of $530.82 was repeatedly posted to my credit card via PayPal as pending on Dec. 6, 9, 11 and 12. Please note that these charges, although posted, remained pending and did NOT go through. While trying to understand what was happening, I tried to contact Microsoft via the information on the PayPal receipts: the email address provided ([email protected]) was unworkable, and the phone number provided (866-672-4551) led to a sales pitch for a medical safety alert product. When I finally decided to cancel the order, I was informed by PayPal that I was canceling a $530.82 annual subscription, which would renew every Nov. 30. This was false, as I had ordered a laptop, not a subscription.

Offering job at home, sends check, asks to buy equipment from a special vendor to work from home. Imagine the check will bounce.

Of course, the government is useless, FBI has a website where they literally get millions of complaints a day ICS, which is a facade (almost as bad as scammers, except they get taxpayers' money and probably charge millions of dollars).

Though an interstate crime, called Pheonix where the check is out of, they can't take complaints there even though I have a FedEx tracking number and say to contact local law enforcement in rural east Tennessee, which most face being barely literate, and literally have never investigated anything in their life, so there is this... letting others know.

I have a FedEx tracking number 2795 6097 6604 that the fake check is being sent to me right now by and provably useless government. Should simply cut all the funding for fraud investigations and we'll all be better off.

This is happening now, and no response, so it's not that 'they got away' or "they're probably gone" it's simply a massively incompetent uncaring official that people are being robbed by. Even my bank says they can't file a report if the check is a fraud.
