Type of a scam Debt Collections

I got contacted by my father. He said he got a call from meridian financial solutions about a complaint that was about me. That he was listed as an emergency contact and wasn’t at liberty to talk about the situation. It was confidential. I called them. They said I owed a medical debt from 2012 for the amount of 1890.90. And told me they’d email me the documentation. No provider info, just the amount and my address from over a decade ago, my name, and client number. I then called my old insurance company I had at the time. They said I didn’t owe anything regarding that info. I even put a three way call without meridians knowledge with my insurance company on the third line listening and they looked up the info and didn’t find anything. I called meridian back and they said that my insurance wouldn’t have that information only the provider. Change it up again. I asked who the provider was again. I already told them I knew they were scammers and she got incredibly rude with me and yelling at me over the phone. I got the hospital name and called and asked for records and billing. They told me I didn’t owe anything to them and esp from 12 years ago. Don’t listen to those people. I called them back and told them what the hospital told me. Meridian said that they’re not allowed to tell me that information. Over the phone. It’s again HIPPA LAW. I told her no it’s not. It’s billing not medical information. She started yelling again and threatening to send my info over to the court and blah blah. I said do it. And hung up. This is an ugly scam. Watch out. I’ll post the pics
