I received my monthly statement from CitiBank and it showed an unrecognized charge to (merchant) V966Subscription 833-7382595 VA for $9.95. I (1) did an internet search on 833-7382595; (2) learned that the number was a telephone number for "Membership Shop" in Virginia Beach; then (3) contacted CitiBank who: (3a) suggested I contact the VA (Department of Veterans Affairs); (3b) canceled my card; and (3c) issued a new one. When I called VA they said they had no information on the charges or Membership Shop and suggested I report the possible scam to BBB.org (State of Virginia).
