I replied to an add for an apartment rental in Seattle, WA that seemed 'too good to be true' low balling the price compared to any other rental in the area. The ad was found here: https://www.forrent.com/apartment-community-profile/1001794534

I received a response from "Matthew" claiming he works in oil offshore and that everything was handled by AirBnB. When I requested the contact information of AirBnB he responded with a request for all my personal information including a copy of a passport and $500 safety deposit before being granted a viewing.

After a pressuring email I reverse image searched the pictures he sent on the property and found the same ad in Miami FL. http://www.booking.com/hotel/us/luxury-miami-holidays.en-gb.html?aid=356980;labe...⇄
