I was looking to adopt a Rottweiler, and under a classified add I found this person, Frank Remo, saying he had two 12 weeks puppy. I contacted him with interest. He replied with a story that that he no longer could take care of dogs due to changes in his life. He asked me many questions for him supposedly to make sure the dog was going to a good home, this made it seem more legit. Many emails went back and forth of me asking him many questions, which he answered well.

Then it was time to ship the dog. Here is when the red flag started to pop up. He said he knew this great shipping company. The company contacts me asking for payment before shipping (something odd for me as I said I wanted to pay upon delivery, they said no it has to be a money transfer).

The website of the shipping company was there with the tracking number finding the information of the dog owner. The email from the shipping company was a gmail account, another red flag. Their website they had a phone number with area code of Somewhere in California. The number of Frank Remo had an area code from Texas. More red flags.

Fortunately I did not went through with any payment. Looked more into this and found out this type of scam already exists.
