Type of a scam Rental

Myself and my significant other applied for a home through Main Street Renewal that we found on Zillow. Haley Merriott, alleged head leasing agent, called us and notified us of our approval. They asked for $1560 within 24 hours as a deposit to secure the home, which we paid on time. Haley also sent us a lease to sign that my significant other was not listed on, we noticed this after signing that she was only listed as an emergency contact and NOT a tenant. This was the first issue. Once we had sent the lease back signed and made the deposit my SO decided to go drive by the house a few days later. When she arrived other people were still viewing the home. The other people viewing the home spoke with her and said that this management company has been a huge nightmare to work with. This was red flag number two. After that myself and my significant other called several different phone numbers, social media platforms, and direct emails to Haley to get answers about a few minor things with the home AND to get the lease corrected. Haley vanished from all contact once the money and signed lease had been received by her. We still have received no contact from her Since 6/1/22, it is now 6/10/22. We sent emails on 6/4, 6/9, and one more today on 6/10/22. She has no direct line to call, and the numbers listed on the website or given to us via social media platforms of the company all connect to a call center. These call centers have no managers available to speak to, and no way to transfer you to a leasing agent. They transfer the call to each other to get you to speak to someone new, and then eventually hang up without any resolution. Keep in mind we were not even slated to move in until 6/14/22, and they were requiring an additional $1400 for a non-refundable pet deposit AND forced prorated rent for making us move in earlier than we need to. Needless to say we did not pay the remaining $1400, and have since reached out to the bank to get our $1560 back.
