Received a postal letter from "Wakefield and Associates LLC" requesting identity and contact information for the person handling my mothers estate. Letter stated that this was an attempt to collect a debt by a debt collector. I knew that my mothers estate didn't have any debt's but I went ahead and called the number listed on the letter to see what this was about. The phone number

was 833-887-0518. I called and it was a recording asking that you leave a name and phone number and your call will be retuned within 24 hours which didn't seem right to me, so I didn't leave a message. I looked Wakefield up on the internet and their phone number was not the one listed on the letter that I received. In addition, the account number on this letter wasn't one of their numbers. They said that the account number I had wasn't valid and they didn't have anyone with our last name in their system. Someone is using the Wakefield name with a bogus phone number in an attempt to gain personal information.
