I returned a missed call about "legal documentation" and spoke with Valerie Parker. She identified herself as a senior paralegal with Kinder Littmann Group. She told me that I had ignored repeated attempts to collect an unpaid credit card balance but could not tell me anything other than it was an HSBC card. She said that in a matter of days the law firm she was with was going to file my case after which time I would be responsible for the lawyers fees of $3500 plus my owed amount. I contacted HSBC to confirm that I have never had an account or credit card with their bank. I also pulled my credit report to confirm that no one had opened a card in my name. They sent me a form to fill out and sign as well as a CC authorization form to make a payment and settle out of court.
